autobump failing for esphome #250445

@jharris4

Description

@jharris4

brew gist-logs <formula> link OR brew config AND brew doctor output

It seems that something is broken with autobump for the esphome formula. It's currently stuck at `2025.10.0` despite two new version having been released since then (latest is `2025.10.2`).

The action logs showing the error are here:

https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/actions/runs/18667033034/job/53220391786#step:6:5211

Relevant snippet:

Verification

  • My brew doctor output says Your system is ready to brew. and am still able to reproduce my issue.
  • I ran brew update and am still able to reproduce my issue.
  • I have resolved all warnings from brew doctor and that did not fix my problem.
  • I searched for recent similar issues at https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues?q=is%3Aissue and found no duplicates.
  • My issue is not about a failure to build a formula from source.

What were you trying to do (and why)?

get latest version of esphome, but autobump failed, and I seemingly cannot open a version bump PR myself since the formula is marked as auto bumped.

What happened (include all command output)?

Formula is out of date, see long snippet linked above for errors.

What did you expect to happen?

For autobump to work so I can get the latest version

Step-by-step reproduction instructions (by running brew commands)

`brew install esphome`
