Django + Celery beat (cron) capture

Hi !

I have a sentry-sdk 2.25 on a python project with django + celery.

I have set up sentry sdk in <myapp>/settings.py like:

SENTRY_TRACE_SAMPLE = 0.2
sentry_sdk.init(
        integrations=[
            DjangoIntegration(transaction_style="function_name"),
            CeleryIntegration(monitor_beat_tasks=True),
            LoggingIntegration(event_level=None),
        ],
        include_local_variables=True,
        send_default_pii=True,
        traces_sample_rate=SENTRY_TRACE_SAMPLE,
        environment=str(ENVIRONMENT), # elsewhere in settings.py, but you get the idea.
        profiles_sample_rate=SENTRY_TRACE_SAMPLE
    )

Error capturing works like a charm on my celery instances, but the "cron" stays empty. Do I need to re-init the sentry SDK like the doc says:

def init_sentry(**kwargs):
    sentry_sdk.init(

And if so, can I know why?

Yes ✅ you need to initialize Sentry separately in the Celery Beat process 🕒 since it runs independently. Without that, beat tasks won’t be tracked in Sentry 📉. Just init Sentry in your beat script and you're good to go 🚀
