Description
Please confirm these before moving forward
- I have searched for my issue and not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
- I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Brief description of your issue
After having successfully installed winget install Apple.DVDorCDSharing
, trying to run it results in an error about that dnssd.dll
was not found, and the program thus refuses to run.
Claims online are that installing Bonjour fixes it, which it doesn't. Installing iTunes seems to fix it, but iTunes and DVDorCDSharing seem to be different softwares and that iTunes shouldn't be a package dependency.
Steps to reproduce
- Not have iTunes installed.
- Run
winget install Apple.DVDorCDSharing
in PowerShell 7.5.3 in Windows Terminal. - Successfully install it.
- Run the resulting
RemoteInstallMacOSX.exe
file. - See an error about that
dnssd.dll
was not found.
Actual behavior
RemoteInstallMacOSX.exe
completely fails to run.
Expected behavior
RemoteInstallMacOSX.exe
presumably runs and launches to a GUI.
