New issue: #4703
I just updated the wiki to improve the experience on Colemak keyboard layout.
Personally I'm using anarchy keys for 'Characters used for link hints' (Colemak):
tarsdpvfcneiou3,mhSince the lettering of the original
sadfjklewcmpghisn't in an entirely clear order (whysis first is hard to understand)I ordered the letters somewhat following the original, but largely trying to weight it into the order that I want to use the keys. I avoided
ksince it's such a common vimium keybind (I use 'hjkl' in colemak but just swapkandjsojis up andkis down).I really wanted to weigh it to the left hand since I use the mouse a bit and like to be able to work two handed while on the mouse.
I noticed however that "e" (right-hand) seems to show up earlier than many left-hand binds including two-letter binds. I would like to have some sort of weighing; even if there's "primary link hints" then "secondary link hints" which will weigh the primary link hints to exhaust entirely including a configurable length (2 is fine for my use-case) before the secondary hints appear. I want everything from "fc" to "vp" (both left hand only) to show up before
eappears for the first time.Of course that's work and perhaps the more common usecase is somewhat opposite for vimium users; wanting to spread any multi-key maps out to the other hand which is otherwise idle if you don't use a mouse.
Order of letters I think should be considered too, since I have got the muscle memory to stretch across to H (same location as qwerty) and some operations are just nicer than others (
d;c&3) are the least ideal LH keys (thenf) since you've just pressedf` and that finger is away from home.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
