非同期処理の活用

Update, Event の実行を並列処理で行う提案です。

システムの実行は withThrowingTaskGroup(of:returning:body:) で並列化できます。

WorldStorageRef, Query, Commands, Resource などは actor にして隔離することを検討したいです。

API が以下のように変更され, システムおよび system parameter の操作全てが async になります。

Graphic のデータ反映は MainActor を使う必要がありそうです。

API が大きく変更されることが確定しているため、即採用とはいかないと思います。

#131 を適用し、かつ world の各プロパティのオブジェクトを actor で実装する構想がありそうです。

• Systems は SKScene の update で動かす
• Event は Task で非同期に
  • 高頻度で発生するものではないはずなので...
• Commands は非同期で実行するが、毎フレームタスクを生成しないようにくふうする
  • MainActor からアクセス可能な何かしらのフラグを用意するとか
    • 基本的に Commands で行うのは比較的重い処理なので、実行頻度を下げる工夫はどのみち必要
  • タスクが動いている間は動かないようにするとか

とりあえず Commands は main actor にしてみる

とりあえず strict concurrency を有効にして、全部 MainActor にしたブランチをローカルで作成したが、イベントが発信されなくなった。

大ニュース

AsyncStream が使えそうです。

• main thread のループからサブスレッドに処理を受け渡せる
• 実行タイミングを await で完全に同期できる（処理の開始タイミングがずれたりはしない）
• Task をメインループ毎に生成しなくていい
  • Task を1つだけ生成すれば完結できる

実装例（サブスレッドに currentTime を渡す例）

• SpriteKit 周りの API を扱う場合は @MainActor 隔離にしたい
  • Nodes
  • node transaction（これから）
  • SceneResource
• それ以外は World 内でどのようにデータを格納するのかによって隔離ドメインを決定したい
  • Command queue
  • entity & components
  • systems
    • system は system 毎に隔離ドメインを指定できるようにする
    • 基本的に非隔離でも実行できるようにする
  • 各 Resource
• World は非隔離？
