Open Hackathon Protocol:

  • Hackfest is an idea to prototype event, this event is not related to hacking as defined in "Computer Security". Rather the term hack is associated with the programming subculture, which is pivotal for Open Source movement and many other important innovations in computer technology.     A person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and stretching their capabilities, as opposed to most users, who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary.

  • A hackfest duration can vary from a short sprint of 12 hours to 48 hours full length hackaton.

  • The organizers of the hackfest will be bound by following basic rules

    1. Hackfest.in is a "Not for profit" group, so 'hackfest' cannot be organized for any monetary gains.
    2. Organizers cannot restrict participants to use a particular technology or platform.
    3. The above point is not valid if organizer only encourage use of certain technology/platform.
    4. Hackfest.in or organizer is not responsible for any Intellectual Property dispute and should not mediate in such situation.
    5. Organizers can sponsor a hackfest. Organizer can raise sponsorship from other companies/individuals with the consent of the chosen representative of hackfest.in.
    6. Organizers and hackfest.in will not claim ownership or copyright of the participants' works. The ownership of the work will belong to individuals or their affiliated organizations.
    7. Organizers and Hackfest.in will share the media right of the event, will allow to publish photos/videos/literature as their own.
    8. Anyone can become a volunteer with hackfest, as long he/she respect the above clauses
